Gyr-Saker

Dark Gyr-SakerThis large and powerful hybrid has proven itself to be equally adaptable to waiting-on flights as well as direct pursuit flights. Due to their aggressive traits they are extremely suitable for use on larger quarries.

Juvanile White Gyr-SakerAll our Gyr-Saker hybrids have a minimum of 50% Gyr genes. As well as half and half  Gyr-Sakers we also produce a few 62.5%Gyr -37.5% Saker and some 75% Gyr-25% Saker. All our Half and half  birds are 1st generation hybrids. As the Gyr semen we use, is produced from  donor’s ranging in color from black to white, these hybrids vary enormously in colour, size and shape, so we should be able to find the falcon to fit the bill.

Gyr-PeregrinesJuvanile Black Gyr-Peregrine   (ALL SOLD FOR 2004 BREEDING SEASON)

The male Gyr-Peregrine hybrid is known as one of the most successful and stylish game falcons all around the world. It combines the Peregrines unique ‘waiting-on’ patience with the Gyr’s power and speed both when climbing and in its pursuit speed at the bottom of the stoop. These falcons are arguably the perfect game hawk, which is reflected in their popularity. We have also found that the males are proving to be exceptional Kirowan hawks and the demand from falconers in the Middle East has gone through the ceiling.

The females are extremely powerful proving themselves to be ‘par excellence’ whether hunting Gulls, Pheasant, Duck or Houbara. Our Gyr-Peregrines are produced mainly from Scottish Peregrines although we do produce a few Peales hybrids, the Gyrs we use are normally Black or White. We are the UK’s largest producer by far of this particular hybrid and due to its popularity, its production is a priority at our breeding center.

Gyr-Barbary   (FEMALES ALL SOLD FOR 2004 SEASON)

Juvanile Gyr-Barbary

This compact falcon has the shoulders of Body Builder and the strength to go with it. The males are proved to be absolutely fantastic game hawks, with a mix of both power and aggression accompanied with outstanding agility. The females seem to make the perfect size for a lowland Pheasant/Duck/ Partridge Hawk, with the power to mount fast and high and then descend like a missile. We believe this will probably be, one of the most sort after hybrids in future years. The females are already starting to find fame in the deserts of the Middle East, with their ability to master both Kirowan and Houbara; also their natural willingness to climb makes for those desired classic flights.

Merlin Hybrids   (ALL SOLD FOR 2004 BREEDING SEASON)

Peregrine MerlinJuvanile White Gyr-MerlinWe produce both Gyr-Merlin and Peregrine-Merlin hybrids. Both these mighty atoms make superb game hawks falconers with access to more enclosed country side. They can be flown direct off the fist for pursuit falconry and their agility needs to be witnessed to be believed. For those people involved in demonstration work, small-enclosed arenas are a nightmare of the past.

The production of Merlin hybrids is very limited We try to produce both black and white Gyr-Merlin’s with the Peregrine-Merlin’s usually being produced with semen from a Scottish Peregrine.

Peregrine-Saker

These Hybrids are uniquely adapted to a large range of quarries and terrains, from Houbara in the desert to pheasant and partridge hawking in relatively enclosed country side. They also make excellent pursuit falcons for both rooks and crows. We have now produced in excess of 180 of these hybrids of which numerous individuals have become famous for their hunting capabilities within the falconry community.

We also produce a few hybrids from our female Lugger falcon and two female Prairie falcons which we normally hybridize with Peregrine or Gyr.
